Turn "Someday I'll use it" into "Always I'll use it": TOMORI AID, a self-assembly lighting kit that saves lives
What is TOMORI AID?
" TOMORI AID" is a product created by a designer who was a victim of a disaster and realized from his experience at night in an evacuation shelter that the direct light from a flashlight made it difficult to live without it .
This lighting kit is easy to assemble and by inserting a flashlight into it, it changes the light from the flashlight into a soft, lantern-like light, making it easier to spend time in an evacuation shelter.
This lighting is an unprecedented concept that redesigns disaster prevention lighting into a positive disaster prevention light that is "practical" and has a design that makes you want to display it every day, and "makes you want to give it as a gift to a special person," overturning the negative image of disaster prevention goods that you have to purchase only in anticipation of the worst case scenario.
Having experienced the disaster, I realized that flashlights alone are not enough light at night
When the designer himself found himself living in a disaster-stricken home, he keenly realized that a flashlight alone was not enough light to illuminate the entire room . It is essential to have light that indirectly illuminates the surroundings, rather than the direct light of a flashlight.
When evacuating, you can carry less luggage than you might think.
The amount of luggage a person can carry is limited, and you must prioritize items necessary for survival, such as water, food, and clothes. No matter how much you prepare, you must choose only what you really need when you evacuate.
LED lanterns, which are common camping equipment, are quite heavy and take up a lot of space in your luggage. Although light is an essential item in emergencies, it can be a big obstacle when sorting out what you really need.
TOMORI AID can solve such problems.
Portable enough to carry in a disaster prevention bag during an evacuation
TOMORI AID is an assembly-ready lighting kit made from cardboard.
Its simple structure has been granted a design patent, so anyone from children to the elderly can easily assemble it . It folds up to A4 size, and since it is made of cardboard, it is lightweight at just 48g, and is designed not to get in the way of other luggage during an evacuation.
The packaging also has a zipper, making it useful for storing items that you don't want to get wet in the event of a disaster.
A design that makes you want to display it
Its design blends in with the interior, making it a lighting fixture that you'll want to keep on display; it's "lighting that you can use anytime, but also in an emergency."
Not only is it great for everyday use at home, but it also works great as a light source for outdoor activities such as camping.
At UNIPPIN, we have carefully selected two popular colors.
The first one, "Gray/Grass," features a very soft, warm light and is a lantern with a basic design that goes well with any interior.
Draw a picture with your child and create a one-of-a-kind lantern
Another one is "Brown/Tracing," which has a cover made of tracing paper, so you can draw on it with crayons or colored pens to create a one-of-a-kind original lantern .
You can make it together with your children and turn your memories into lights, or you can use it as an opportunity to talk to your family about disaster prevention .
Once you have finished painting the picture on it, you can use it as a lamp in your child's room or as a light in your living room, or you can give it as a gift to your grandparents who live far away, as it will help protect the lives of your loved ones in an emergency .
Of course, you can also use it as is without painting it and enjoy the simple light it gives off, just like a Japanese paper lantern.
Why not buy one or two TOMORI AIDs for yourself or your loved ones as a light that you can use anytime, and that you will use someday?
